Maxdao’s Radiating Clamps Optimize 27-29mm Cable Connections in Railway Tunnels

Sep 5, 2024 – As railway transportation continues to expand and modernize, there is a growing need for enhanced communication infrastructure within railway tunnels. This development is essential for ensuring efficient operations, safety, and real-time data connectivity in these critical transit corridors.
Recently, a customer specializing in communication optoelectronic cables and components approached us for support on a railway communication infrastructure project in the Asian market. They required clamps to secure 27-29mm diameter cables within tunnels.

Customer Challenges

The customer was facing the challenge to meet stringent requirements for their cable management system. The clamps needed to offer axial tensile, shear, and tension strength, while also being UV-resistant and flame-retardant to protect the cable sheath. Additionally, they required corrosion resistance to ensure long-term reliability in humid conditions. These clamps must support the cable securely, ensure safety, and allow for quick installation.

Maxdao Solution

Upon receiving the customer’s request, the MAXDAO team promptly conducted a comprehensive analysis of the requirements. As a result, we introduced the radiating clamp with the following advantages:

  • The customer is using the product inside tunnels, so we recommended the Radiating Clamp for this application. Additionally, we suggested a mix of standard and fire-retardant Radiating Clamps to enhance safety during installation and use.

            Radiating Clamps 1

  • For the internal structure, we designed a serrated inner surface to ensure secure cable clamping and meet the customer’s force requirements. The head features a tooth-shaped design to fit the customer’s 27-29mm cable range. Additionally, we used PA6 material, which complies with flame retardancy standards.

          Radiating Clamps 2

  • For the metal components,we use stainless steel, which effectively prevents corrosion and ensures long-term durability.
  • We prepared samples and conducted tests, including UV and tensile strength assessments, which confirmed the product met all specified requirements. We then submitted the FAI report to the customer for review, and after their approval, sent the samples for their own testing. The customer confirmed the product passed all tests.

Result

The successful development of the Radiating Clamp has not only met but exceeded the customer’s expectations, resulting in their high satisfaction with Maxdao’s products and services. This positive experience has further solidified the longstanding trust and strengthened the mutually beneficial partnership between our two companies.

“We are very pleased with the solutions your team delivered. Thank you for your excellent work.”
